NDC Winning 2024 Elections Even With Aunty Rebecca As EC Chair – Gbande

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has informed its members that nothing will stand in the way of their victory in the general elections of 2024, despite the manipulations made by the current administration and important state institutions that have a say in the outcome of the vote.

They have remarked that despite their unpopularity due to the poor state of the economy and disastrous policies they adopted after promising Ghanaians heaven, President Nana Addo and the NPP continue to engage in shenanigans in order to maintain their position of power.

In an interview, Deputy General Secretary of the NDC Mustapha Foyo Gbande said, “The NDC is well aware of all the schemes being made ahead of the elections to whip them in line for an NPP victory, but they will not stand aloof for that to happen.”

He has thus posed a challenge to President Akufo-Addo, stating that the NDC will easily win the 2024 elections even if he appoints his wife as the chairperson of the electoral commission.

There are worries that the NPP, through President Nana, may cram party supporters into the Electoral Commission, which serves as the elections’ referee.

Recent selections to the commission have drawn criticism, with some CSOs asserting that they are filled with party loyalists.

Salima Ahmed Tijani, Dr. Peter Appiahene, and Rev. Akua Ofori Boateng have all taken oaths to serve in various capacities in the EC. It is said that Dr. Appiahene is a well-known NPP communicator in the Brong Ahafo Region.
