Loudmouth MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has said that claims he made on a political platform a few weeks ago that the NDC flagbearer, John Mahama had purchased a house for Kumawood actress Tracey Boakye was just a joke.
According to the maverick lawmaker, his comment was just a political joke which was unfortunately taken too serious by the actress.
A few weeks ago, during one of the NPP’s campaign rallies in Achiase, Kennedy Agyapong asked that people don’t vote the NDC back into power because the leaders of the party splurge Ghana’s money on slay queens.
In citing an example, the MP alleged that NDC flagbearer, John Mahama bought Tracey Boakye a house worth $450,000 allegedly with state funds.
His comment did not go down well with the actress who took the MP to the cleaners for deliberately tarnishing her image.
However, in an unusual U-Turn on Asaase radio, Ken Agyapong claims his comment was made in jovial terms and was not meant to be a serious statement.
“Whatever happens to a Mahama I don’t feel happy about it. So the allegations I made in Achiase some few weeks ago about Mahama and Tracey Boakye were all for jokes but then Tracey Boakye took it so very serious and reacted to it.”
