Lawyer Adom Acted Like A Child For ‘Stealing’ Electoral Album – Constituency Chairman

The Chairman of Effiduase-Asokore Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Mr Osei Adiyiah has condemned Lawyer Kwame Adom Appiah’s alleged act of stealing the electoral album, likening it to an ‘act of a child’.

Speaking to GhanaWeb, he revealed complete shock and disappointment when Lawyer Adom confessed to him that he was responsible for the stolen electoral album.

“My party and fellow leaders have condemned the act of the stealing of the electoral album. Because laws are laws and should be obeyed. I was like Kwame, ‘let a child do this, but you a lawyer who knows all the rules, why are you doing that?’” he said.

“I called the District Director of the Electoral Commission, District Command of Police, the Divisional Commander, and the BNI so we can solve the problems that may be arising. Prior to the elections, we gave authority to the Electoral Commission to make their arrangements, and if they are done and something unlawful happens, we will take the necessary steps. We will do just that,” he added.

The Chairman however added that the NPP is a party of peace and therefore the lawyer’s actions shouldn’t be generalised.

“So it is lawyer Adom who went for the register, that is why the police have arrested him, and it is not the entire party members who are instigating violence. It is only him. He has made his people pick the registers in 5 electoral areas,” he noted.
