The Privileges Committee has reportedly cancelled its hearing of a case involving Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong over threats on a journalist’s life.
Kennedy Agyapong was referred to the committee by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin after he was reported by the Multimedia Group of threats against its journalist.
The other key complainant in the case, Alhassan Suhuyini, who’s the Tamale North MP, will be the first witness to appear before the committee.
Mr Agyapong had called for the journalist to be beaten on live TV after a reportage on the Ejura disturbance.
After a virtual meeting of the Privileges Committee on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, it was agreed that the sitting will be held at 5pm on August 5.
However, a report by kasapaonline says that the hearing has been called off with a new date yet to be known.
