I Will Personally Sponsor Mahama To Lead NDC For Them To Lose Again – Wontumi [Video]

The Office of former President John Mahama approached Chairman Wontumi to solicit for campaign funds in 2020 and have visited him again to help his 2024 presidential election. 

The Ashanti regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) made this scathing revelation on Wontumi TV stating that aside him, John Mahama authorized his office to collect money for his campaign.  

According to him the office of John Mahama are out “collecting money from businessmen and telling them that Mahama would help them when he comes back to power”.   

Chairman Wontumi noted that he gladly supported the plea from Mr. Mahama because he knows supporting the 2020 flagbearer for the NDC makes it easier for the NPP to stay longer in power.  

“I am paying for them (NDC) to bring him as flagbearer because his presence delays the opportunity that better people in the NDC can offer”, Chairman Wontumi said. 

Former President John Mahama has said some Ashanti businessmen have confessed to him that they voted against him in the past despite the growth their businesses experienced under his tenure. 

Speaking to some NDC supporters in Kumasi as part of his Thank You tour of the country, Mr. Mahama said some business people in the region have had a change of mind after experiencing the governance of the New Patriotic Party under President Akufo-Addo.
