Executive Director of the Africa Centre for Health Policy and Analysis, Dr Thomas Anaba has accused the Government of Ghana and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) of making profits from Coronavirus patients.
Speaking to Alfred Ocansey on 3FM’s Sunrise show, Dr Anaba noted, but for the business-government is doing, some recovered patients should have been discharged long ago.
He however failed to substantiate his argument on how government is trading the Covid-19 patients but alleged patients are being kept for a longtime because some people are benefiting from it.
According to him, he “know of patients who have been isolated for more than 20 days.”
“They were there because people have given contract to keep people. Now that WHO has come with this, those contracts will seize to exist and we will save money.”
He added: “We don’t know when they can change to give us data that we will be satisfied with regarding Covid-19.”
President Akuffo Addo in his 12th address to the nation on Sunday June 21, announced that Ghana has started implementing the new directive provided by the World Health Organization (WHO) on the discharge of patients.
