Ghana Is Not The Only Country Facing Challenges – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated that the challenges facing Ghana are not unique to the country, as many other countries around the world are experiencing similar difficulties.

The issues, he said, have been brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

“Our country, and indeed every country on the earth, is facing issues brought on in great part by Covid-19,” he remarked.

“Ghana isn’t the only country dealing with record global freight rates, tightening global finance conditions, and rising inflationary pressures.” These are worldwide occurrences.”

On Saturday, March 19, President Akufo-Addo joined past and current students of St. Augustine’s College to commemorate the school’s 92nd Speech and Prize-giving Day.

With the commencement of the Ghana Coronavirus Alleviation and Revitalisation of Enterprises Support (CARES) Programme, he issued the strongest guarantees yet that Ghana will be out of the woods sooner rather than later.

“I am confident that, sooner rather than later, our economy will recover from the pandemic’s ravages, delivering stability, development, progress, and prosperity to all Ghanaians, thanks to the government’s $100 billion Ghana CARES Obaatanpa initiative.”

Recent increases in fuel prices have resulted in an increase in the cost of living, with transportation charges and the cost of commodities expected to rise in the coming weeks.

The President stated that in order to recover the economy, painful but necessary measures must be taken.
