The dust may not have settled on the grand entry of Asaase Radio 99.5 into the media landscape in Ghana but it’s already ‘causing trouble’.
This is as a result of a reported frequency interference with Multimedia Group’s Joy 99.7 FM.
Asaase Radio’s 99.5mhz frequency is said to be crisscrossing Joy FM’s 99.7mhz making it difficult for listeners of the latter to tune in.
The industry regulator, the National Communications Authority (NCA), have been alerted and it has promised to resolve the issue.
The purported Gabby Otchere-Darko co-owned Asaase Radio has been the talk of town especially on social media in recent days, after pictures of their plush and luxurious studios and cars went viral.
It is the newest addition to the many radio stations in the capital, Accra and is expected to bring competition to the already established brands.
