We The Chiefs Of Ejura Knew There Wouldn’t Be Peace When We Heard Kaaka Was Dead – Ejura Kontihene

The Kontihene of Ejura Traditional Council, Nana Odiasempa Antwi Obugyei II has said that the chiefs of the community braced themselves for chaos when they heard that activist, Kaaka had been killed.

He explained to Joynews that they had since been trying to calm down tensions however their efforts were not fruitful.

“From yesterday, we’ve been fighting this scene not happening. The moment we heard that the guy Kaaka was dead, we realized there wasn’t going to be peace,” he said.

 “So we started talking to the various factions and from yesterday around 2pm, we’ve been talking, calming them down.”

“But we don’t know what happened, all of a sudden we heard that there was a confrontation between the youth and then the peacemakers, and I had to rush to the scene. I went there and saw a pool of blood, so I had to follow up to the hospital.”

Kaaka was killed by a mob triggering a response from the youth of Ejura who have been demanding justice for the young activist.

This led to a clash between the Ejura youth and the military with some sustaining injuries and two confirmed dead.
