2024 Polls: Mahama Will Be NDC Flagbearer Whether He Likes It Or Not – Yammin

The former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yammin has said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be presenting John Dramani Mahama as its flagbearer in the 2024 elections.

He said not even the family and close relatives of the former president can stop him from contesting because the NDC is bent on making him lead the party to victory in 2024.

Mr Yammin says the track record of President Akufo-Addo and the NPP regime cannot match Mahama’s and therefore he is the only one that can return the NDC to power.

His comment is in reaction to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) report on the 2024 elections which said “The next parliamentary and presidential elections are due in 2024. Under the constitutionally mandated term limits, Mr. Akufo Addo cannot run for a third term. Mr Mahama is reportedly considering whether to run again, but we expect the NDC to seek to revitalize its prospects with a fresh candidate. After two terms of NPP government, we expect the NDC to win the 2024 presidential election and gain a small majority in parliament.”

Joseph Yammin responding to EIU Report in an interview with Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo said “Mahama is already the flag bearer of the NDC and NDC will win the 2024 elections massively with John Dramani Mahama”

“John Dramani Mahama doesn’t have family members as we talking now because his family members are NDC members and Ghanaians…..not even the blood brother of John Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama and the wife of John Mahama, Lordina Mahama can stop John Dramani Mahama from contesting the 2024 general elections” Yammin insisted.
