The NPP (New Patriotic Party) stalwart claimed in a tweet on March 15, 2022 that the country’s economic woes are the result of parliament’s failure to pass the government’s revenue mobilization initiatives.

“In the case of Ghana, the president observed of Covid, “We know how to fix the economy, but not how to resurrect the dead.” Covid is in charge, but Parliament is refusing to take economic steps to help the economy.

“Spending has been cut by at least 20%, harming development, contractors, earnings, and jobs,” Gabby wrote in a tweet.

In the meantime, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the former Deputy Finance Minister, has accused the government of owing service providers of the National Health Insurance Scheme arrears of at least nine months.

Dr. Forson noted in a tweet on March 11, 2022 that the service providers’ arrears are part of a long list of bills the government owes.

The government owes statutory money such as the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and the Road Fund, according to the ex-deputy finance minister, who is now the Member of Parliament for Ajumako Enyan Essiam.
