The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has expressed his displeasure about reports that some schools are preventing Muslim students from taking part in Ramadan fast.
News emerged that some schools, particularly Wesley Girls High School in Cape Coast were preventing Muslim students from taking part in Ramadan fast.
According to the school authorities, it was against school rules for students to undertake such exercise.
However, in a statement issued on his behalf by his spokesperson, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, the National Chief Imam expressed his displeasure at the turn of events.
The usually calm Chief Imam, in his statement, wondered why these heads of schools show him respect publicly but deny his grandchildren the opportunity to practice their faith in school.
