Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, one of the senior members of the New Patriotic Patriotic Party, and one of the persons who have publicly announced their intention to contest as flagbearer has shot down claims by Alan Kyeremateng that it is his time to lead the Party.
According to the former MP for Offinso North, it is only persons who are unknown to the grassroots of the Party who will make claims that suggest that there is a queue theory with regards to the flagbearership race of the NPP.
Dr. Apraku’s comment appears to be a direct jab at Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyeremateng, who indicated last week that it was time for others to sacrifice for him after he sacrificed for Nana Akufo-Addo in the past.
According to Mr. Kyeremateng, who was addressing party supporters, he had to concede to Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2007 race after the latter failed to cross the line in the race contested by 17 aspirants.
Mr. Kyeremateng claimed that his decision to concede in that particular race was borne out of love and sacrifice.
However, Alan’s claims of a queue theory have been shot down by Dr. Apraku in an interview on Accra-based Asempa FM.
According to him, the only person qualified to lead the NPP as flagbearer is the one whom the grassroots believe in and whom they know.
