Wakaso, Ati Zigi, And 9 Other Players Who Were Dropped From Latest Black Stars Squad

Ghana Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo has made new changes in his squad for the upcoming world cup pre-season games in comparison to his previous selection for the 2023 African Cup of Nation qualifiers in May 2022.

In May 2022, Otto Addo’s squad for the 2023 African Cup of Nation qualifiers was 33 players, Now the head coach has reduced the squad from 33 to 29 squad.

The 11 players who made it in the previous squad but missed out on the September squad include Wakaso Mubarak, Lawrence Ati Zigi, Joseph Paintsil, Abdul Mumin, Jonathan Mensah, Edmund Addo, Augustine Okrah, Kwesi Okyere Wriedt, Yaw yeboah, Braydon Manu, and Christopher Antwi Agyei.

The New players who joined the 26 players to complete the 29-list are Inaki Williams, Tarig Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu, Alexander Djiku, Stephan Ambrosius, and Ransford Yeboah Konigsdorffer.

Ghana Black Stars will play Brazil on Friday, September 23rd in France, before playing Nicaragua on Tuesday, September 27th, 2022.

Below is the confirmed Black Stars 29-man Squad for the Pre-Season:

Goalkeepers: Joseph Wollacott, Richard Ofori, and Abdul Manaf Nurudeen.

Defenders: Mohammed Salisu, Tariq Lamptey, Denis Odoi, Alidu Seidu, Joseph Aidoo, Daniel Amartey, Stephan Ambrosius, Alexander Djiku, Gideon Mensah, and Adbul-Rahaman Baba.

Midfielders: Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey, Iddrisu Baba, Elisha Owusu, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, and Andre Ayew.

Wingers: Jordan Ayew, Osman Bukari, Randford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, Antoine Semenya, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, and Issahaku Addul Fatawu.

Strikers: Inaki Williams, Felix Afena-Gyan, and Benjamin Tetteh.
