Vice Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Prof Jane Naana Agyemang has called on politicians and Ghanaians alike to engage in healthy politics devoid of insults and name calling.

Speaking on a yet to be aired interview on the KSM Show, she bemoaned the culture of insults that has taken over Ghanaian politics. According to her, people think without insults one cannot be a politician however, that is untrue.

She told host Kwaku Sintim Misa, “we shouldn’t get to the level where we think that to be a politician, you must insult people. Listen when the fabric of society becomes weak, none of the policies will help you. Our parents didn’t raise us to go insulting people.”

Flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama has also insisted his campaign will be devoid of insults and name calling.

Speaking to the Christian Council while introducing his running mate, Naana Agyemang he said, “But I can assure you and all Ghanaians that Naana Jane and myself will never engage in insults and name-calling of opponents. Children are watching, listening and copying and it is important we serve as good role models”
