The NDC Doesn’t Have A Father Figure Like Kufuor- Obiri Boahen

There is no father figure in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) like the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is enjoying from former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Nana Obiri Boahen has said.

According to him since the founder of the NDC, Jerry John Rawlings passed away, the NDC hasn’t gotten a father like figure to take tough decisions and ensure the party remains united when there is rancor.

Speaking on Wontumi TV, the former deputy General Secretary for the NPP noted that whenever there is crisis in the NPP and “Kufuor picks a phone to call, you obey”, he said to underscore the influence the former President holds in the ruling party.

He stated that former President John Mahama’s influence and respect in the NDC has faded because of factions he has chosen to work with.
