Popular Broadcast Journalist, Afia Pokuaa known as Vim Lady has asked Ghanaian Politicians especially members of the two major political parties to stop displaying their nonsense because ‘we are one people’.
Her remarks is in response to the brewing conversation on social and mainstream media with regards to tribal sentiments and agitations emanating from the government’s deployment of troops to the border regions, especially in Ketu South in the Volta Region.
According to her, when politicians engage in their divisive partisan politics, it is the ordinary Ghanaians who bear the full repercussions, while the politicians have their children living the best lives abroad.
“When you wake up you receive calls from parents and friends both in Ghana and Abroad during every election. Because of the fear and panic, these people always think the country cannot be safe and therefore sit on tenterhooks because they are not sure if there will be peace in the country during and after the elections. How did we bring Ghana to this level?” She asked.
She noted that but for COVID-19, these politicians would have been outside the country with their families, advising them not muddy the waters for Ghanaians who have only Ghana as their homes and cannot afford to leave the shores of the country.
