Ghanaian socialite Afia Schwarzenegger has publicly criticized National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, for her comments about the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy.
In a video shared by Afia Schwarzenegger, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang asserted, “I want you all to understand that when we talk about Free SHS, we [NDC] started it.”
Afia Schwarzenegger challenged this statement, insisting that the Free SHS policy was solely initiated and implemented by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government under President Akufo-Addo.
Afia accused the NDC, including Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, of making misleading statements to deceive the public as part of their electoral campaign strategy. “Liar to liar,” Afia exclaimed, alleging that the NDC was fabricating their involvement in the Free SHS policy to garner votes ahead of the general elections.
This exchange highlights the ongoing political debates and the use of policy achievements as key talking points in the lead-up to elections. The Free SHS policy remains a significant and contentious issue in Ghanaian politics, with parties vying for credit and public support.
