Rev Owusu Bempah Could Be Jailed For Ten Years – Maurice Ampaw

Legal practitioner, Maurice Ampaw says Founder and Leader of the Glorious Word Power Ministry, Reverend Owusu Bempah could be jailed for up to 10-years.

According to reports, the man of God who has close ties with President Akufo-Addo has been handcuffed to his sickbed while a police guard monitors him.

Rev Owusu Bempah was arrested together with three other suspects namely; Michael Boateng, Frederick Ohene and Nathaniel Agyekum, on Sunday, September 13, 2021, at his church premises.

Accoridng to the police, Owusu Bempah and the other suspects were “being detained for further investigations over the creation and circulation of multiple videos containing threats, the brandishing of a weapon and the assault of some police personnel.

“After critically analyzing the said videos and based on intelligence gather, the police embarked on an operation on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at the premises of the church to arrest the suspects.”

The statement further said they’ll be processed to court today.

Owusu Bempah and some of his junior pastors stormed the residence of converted priestess, Nana Agradaa threatening to deal with her for disrespect.

Lawyer Ampaw says considering the allegations against him, he could face a 10-year jail term.

“These are serious offences he has been charged with. Some of them include first-degree felony and others too second-degree felony because I’ve heard that there is also a charge of threat of persons. So, we’re talking about the range of not less than 5 years imprisonment and up to 10 years,” he said.
