Brigadier General Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, seasoned politician, has disclosed that late president Jerry John Rawlings endorsed his decision to leave the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and join the Ghana Union Movement (GUM).
Speaking on E.tv Ghana’s Fact Sheet show, he said he believed both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and NDC are not leading the country on the right path and he had a frank discussion with the late president who advised him to join GUM.
According to him, Rawlings himself had been disappointed that he risked his life for the country, yet achieved nothing.
“The late President Rawlings encouraged me to leave the NDC and join GUM. I told him the two parties will achieve nothing for Ghana. Rawlings himself felt he risked his life for the country and still achieved nothing,” he said.
