President Akufo-Addo Makes His First Official Trip To Mali Tomorrow Since Announcing Border Closure

President Akufo-Addo would be making his first official trip to Mali, tomorrow, July 23, ever since he announced the closure of borders due to the coronavirus.

The presidents, together with a delegation from other African Countries are to intervene in what is described as a political crisis in Mali.

Also among the delegation chosen by the African Union in this quest are the president of Ivory Coast, Niger and Senegal.

There had been clashes in Mali leading to some deaths as the incumbent president of the country, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita and the opposition June5Movement wallow in a political friction.

This is because the opposition is asking the President Boubacar to step down on allegations of poor management of the economy resources coupled with insurgencies in the country.

There had been an earlier intervention by ECOWAS which though ended failed to achieve its aim.
