Political Scientist Bemoans Mahama’s Delay In Revealing Running Mate, Says Party Likely to Lose Votes

A political science lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr Alidu Seidu, has bemoaned the delay of announcing a running mate for flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to Dr Seidu, the delay in revealing the running mate for John Dramani Mahama can lead to loss of votes for the party.

He made this assertion in an interview with GhanaWeb.

“I do believe that by now the party should have had its running mate. The running mate that they are going to choose is supposed to complement John Mahama’s abilities.

The running mate should have been outdoored so that he or she can also help campaign for votes for the party. The consequence of the delay will be a potential loss of votes for the party,” he noted.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has been teased by his political opponents for failing to select a running mate as the elections draw closer.

Mr Mahama has stated that the Covid 19 is to blame for the delay and he’ll soon make the announcement.
