Okyehene Dragged To Court For Allegedly Appropriating Public Road

The Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori-panin has been dragged to court by a native of Kyebi for allegedly appropriating a public road which was recently asphalted.

The plaintiff, Mr Kofi Akresi sued the Chief of Akyem Abuakwa and the Ministry of Roads and Highways.

Mr Akresi said it was illegal for the Okyehene to erect two huge gates at both ends of the street as part of his palace renovation project.

Mr Akresi also alleged that in an attempt to separate his palace and so-called ugly houses, the Okyehene has also erected a huge wall.

According to him, he was forced to resort to the Court after his formal petition to the Kyebi Traditional Council and the Ministry of Roads and Highways were disregarded.
