Otumfuor Begins Investigations Against Two Chiefs For Alleged Involvement In Galamsey

The Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II has revealed that he has initiated investigations into the conduct of two of his chiefs who have been fingered to be allegedly involved in illegal mining.

The two chiefs, said to be from Amansie and Fomena in the Ashanti Region are due to face the King at Manhyia to answer questions over their alleged involvement.

The Asantehene made this revelation when he addressed a gathering as the keynote speaker at the Regional Consultative Dialogue held in Kumasi on Wednesday, May 12.

The Overlord of the Asante Kingdom also revealed that he had sent a strong warning to his Chiefs to desist from engaging in illegal mining which is destroying the environment.
