In a recent interview on a Kumasi-based radio station, Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, the former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressed strong criticism towards John Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), ahead of the upcoming general elections.
Boahen, emphasizing his sincerity and familiarity with Mahama’s track record, questioned the judgment of those considering voting for the former president. “No God-fearing individual would vote for Mahama in the upcoming general elections,” Boahen asserted, underscoring his conviction.
Drawing a comparison between Mahama and NPP’s candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Boahen described Bawumia as a “tried and tested” leader. He highlighted Bawumia’s recent endorsement by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, who praised Bawumia’s consistent humility, as a testament to his suitability for leadership over Mahama.
Boahen issued a stark warning to the electorate, cautioning against bringing the NDC back to power. He labeled such a decision as an “unforgivable error,” urging Ghanaians to make a choice that reflects good judgment and foresight.
