NMC Orders Sefa Kayi To Go On His Knees And Beg Former DVLA Boss Or Risk Losing License To Practice

The National Media Commission has ordered ace broadcaster with Peace FM, Kwami Sefa Kayi to offer an unqualified apology to former DVLA boss, Yao Amegashie for making unfounded claims against his personality several years ago.

The NMC, detailing the nature of the apology, said Mr Sefa Kayi must go on his knees and beg Mr Amegashie or risk losing his license to practice journalism.

He is also expected to go on air and announce that all the words he said about Amegashie were false and then ensure that the same apology is published on Peace FM’s official website.

In a report by ghanaguardian.com, Sefa Kayi claimed that Yao Amegashie was asked to proceed on leave in 2001 after former president, John Agyekum Kufuor, came into office but was recalled to the same position in 2009 when the National Democratic Congress’s John Evans Ata Mills became president.

This claim displeased Mr Amegashie who described it as non-factual and ordered his lawyer to report Kwami Sefa Kayi to the disciplinary committee of the NMC.
