An activist of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Dela Coffie has described the nomination of Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as the running mate to John Mahama in the 2020 election as nothing of value, saying the Professor adds nothing to the NDC Campaign.
While many of his NDC comrades and commentators have welcomed the appointment of the distinguished scholar as running mate for the 2020 election, Dela Coffie argues that Prof. Naana brings nothing substantial to the campaign of the NDC.
He is of the opinion that Prof Opoku Agyemang’s choice may be proof that the NDC is working towards the 2024 elections instead of this year’s election.
Sharing his thoughts via social media, he wrote, “Congratulations is in order for Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyeman. An academic of great repute with a lot of honours, but in terms of political activism and correctness, is the juice worth the squeeze?”
How does this nomination factor into the NDC’s succession plan? How is this ticket different from Mahama/Amissah Arthur 2016 ticket? For me, John/Jane ticket brings virtually nothing to the table in terms of political mileage. Unless of course, Mahama is actually working his way through the much-talked-about ‘Agenda 2024.’
Whatever the case may be, there’s nothing new here, and there’s obviously nothing interesting – Same faces, same fate. Old wine in new skin – Business as usual and still the ostrich covers its eyes. God save the king,”.
