Voters Registration: NDC MP For Ejura Beaten With Sticks By Unknown Men

Some unknown men who were armed with sticks have attacked the Member of Parliament for Ejura-Sekyedumase in the Ashanti Region, Alhaji Mohammed Bawah Braimah.

The honourable MP was accosted by unkwown assailants while he was distributing food supplies to his party agents at registration centers at Kasie – Nkwanta, a community about 15 kilometers from the constituency capital.

According to some eye-witnesses, the assailants appeared from nowhere and attacked the MP, beating him with sticks and other objects while he lay on the ground helpless. He has since been receiving treatment at the Ejura Government Hospital.

However, supporters of the NDC in the constituency are pointing fingers at the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) who doubles as the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Sualisu Bamba.

Meanwhile, some supporters of the NDC who besieged the police station to demand police action over the matter were also allegedly beaten and dispersed by armed government soldiers.

The situation is said to have escalated tension in the constituency as some youth of the NDC are vowing to retaliate. Some of the supporters have also accused the soldiers of “taking sides”.
