Government’s spokesperson on social services, Alhaji Yussif Fofana, has indicated that those rising against the construction of the national cathedral especially members of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), must be told in the face that the edifice will be built.
According to him, although he’s a Muslim he wholeheartedly supports the construction due to its benefit to the state.
Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on Wontumi Radio/Movement TV, Alhaji Fofana stated, “it’s just like the building of the Jubilee house; the NDC vehemently opposed it but after it was constructed Mahama occupied it. It’s the same with the National Health Insurance; one would have thought that they will scrap it when they assume power. But due to its benefits which they are very much aware of, they couldn’t touch it.”
Adding that “we must tell them in the face that by hook or crook, the National Cathedral will be built. There’s nothing they will do when they assume power, same with the free SHS”.
