In a significant development, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has taken into custody Cecilia Abena Dapaah, the former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, on charges related to corruption.
The arrest came after she resigned from her ministerial position in the midst of a scandal where it was revealed that she had kept a substantial amount of money in her bedroom. Shockingly, some of the cash was reported stolen by two of her “house helps.”
The OSP’s actions have raised serious concerns and intensified the investigation into alleged corruption and associated offenses surrounding Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, who has in recent days come to be referred to as “Yellow Cici” on Social Media.
Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, in a press release dated July 24, 2023, confirmed that Cecilia Abena Dapaah, who was apprehended earlier today, is currently undergoing questioning by his office regarding the substantial amount of money and valuable items that were stolen from her bedroom.
According to court documents, Cecilia Abena Dapaah has filed a lawsuit against two of her household staff members, accusing them of stealing 1 million dollars, 300,000 Euros, millions of Cedis, and various items of jewelry.
