Mahama’s Running Mate Appointment Creates Massive Division In Controversial Feminist Group, Pepperdem

An unhealthy division has been created in the widely controversial feminist group Pepperdem Ministries after the group members appear to be sharply divided since NDC Flagbearer John Mahama appointed a female, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as running mate.

The division was ignited by a statement released by failed NPP parliamentary aspirant for Tafo, who also doubles as a founding member of the Pepperdem group, Dr. Louise Carol Serwaa Donkor which sought to downplay Mahama’s appointment of a female.

The statement said among others, “The NDC’s nomination of Prof. Opoku-Agyemang, deceitful as it is merely intended to harness her seeming nobility to sanitize the image of John Dramani Mahama, irredeemably blemished by corruption and incompetence, sets her up as a sheep amongst wolves, without any true opportunity for impact,”

“Rather than signalling transformation progress, the nomination could set the women agenda many years back in the most unlikely event that Ghanaians give their mandate to the NDC in 2020 to deliver an assured continuation of poor governance and corruption.” The statement added.

However, the other members of the controversial group, who obviously disagree with their founding member, passed behind her back and issued a contradicting statement, saying the appointment of Prof. Jane Naana Agyemang is a historic victory and marks the first time a major political party in the country has appointed a female running mate.
