The flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has called on international bodies to come to Ghana’s aid to help sanitize its electoral processes ahead of the December 7 polls.
Mr. Mahama believes such urgent intervention will save the nation from chaos and turmoil.
He bemoaned the alleged irregularities cited by his party in the ongoing voters’ exhibition exercise.
“As things are going, we are not comfortable with the way the processes leading to the election. We call on the international bodies. They should take an interest in what is happening in Ghana. We want international electoral observers should come long in advance to supervise the electoral process.”
The former President also slammed the EC for its “legendary” as he puts it, incompetence in handling electoral issues ahead of the country’s general elections in December 2020.
