Founder of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) and former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings says the Ahwois are scheming to take over the party in 2024 after they have succeeded in pushing John Dramani Mahama and his running mate aside.
According to him, the Ahwois are of the conviction that the NPP will not lose power in 2020 to the NDC so they are using the opportunity to destroy Rawlings so that they bring in their preferred Candidate in 2024 to represent the NDC.
The former President made this known in a tweet announcing his yet-to-be released book titled “The Triumph of Evil”.
He said “their cunning calculation is that Mahama and his running mate will step aside after 2020 while they consolidate their control over the party and provide their own flag-bearer and running mate for 2024.”
The former President believes that it is against this backdrop that the Ahwois have decided to destroy him with the book published by Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi titled “Working with Rawlings.
“People like him do not expect the NPP to let go of 2020, so they are hoping to utilize the opportunity of a loss to damage Rawlings with some viscous, manufactured stuff,” he said in a tweet addressing the various claims made in the book.
