The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has disclosed that an impeachment proceeding against the Chief Justice Will be done in-camera if it becomes necessary to conduct such proceedings.
The President made this comment in line with constitutional provisions concerning the impeachment processes for a Chief Justice.
This portal reported earlier today that the Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin Yeboah is currently in hot waters after the council of state presented their resolution on his removal from office to the President.
The action by the Council is in line with a petition for the removal from office of the learned chief justice, which was forwarded from the office of the president.
It will be recalled that a few weeks ago, pressure group, ASEPA presented a petition to the President, calling for the removal of the CJ.
ASEPApetitioned President Akufo-Addo over allegations that the Chief Justice had demanded a US$5million bribe and received part of it from a litigant Ogyeedom Obranu Kwasi Atta Vl.
President Akufo-Addo, after receiving the resolution of the Council of State, which was presented by the Chair of the Council, Nana Otuo Serebuor, remarked that any such impeachment proceeding will be held in camera as established by law.
