‘I Have Worked Better Than Any Vice President In Ghana’s History; Make Me President’ – Bawumia Boldly Declares

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia Cites Hard Work as Key Qualification for Presidency

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has made a strong case for his presidential candidacy, highlighting his extensive work and achievements as Vice President. Speaking at the Youth Connect event in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Bawumia emphasized his unique contributions and the policies he has spearheaded during his tenure.

Addressing a fervent crowd, Dr. Bawumia asserted, “The reason why I want to become President is that I’ve worked so hard as a Vice President. My work speaks for itself. If you compare the various Vice Presidents under the Fourth Republic, you can tell that my work rate stands out.”

He pointed out that, unlike his predecessors, he has implemented a significant number of policy initiatives. “If you ask John Mahama to point out even one policy initiative he spearheaded as Vice President, he can’t point out. I have 33 policies I’ve spearheaded. So the score is 33-0. So please promote me to become President because I’ve passed as Vice President,” Dr. Bawumia declared.

Dr. Bawumia also highlighted the comparative advantage of his potential tenure over that of his main opponent, John Dramani Mahama. He emphasized that, with eight years potentially ahead of him, he would be more accountable to the electorate compared to Mahama, who would only have a four-year term if elected.

“To him, he stands to be more accountable for his actions since he will still need the people of Ghana when he seeks their mandate in 2028. Therefore, he believes it is best to vote for someone who will be accountable than someone who has asked for a honeymoon even though he has just four years to be President,” Dr. Bawumia stated.

The Vice President’s remarks underscore his belief in a performance-based evaluation for the presidency, urging Ghanaians to consider his track record and dedication as factors in their decision-making process.
