He’s The People’s Choice – Chief Says As He Backs Sammi Awuku For Akuapem North Seat

Sammi Awuku has enlisted the support of Nana Yirenkyi I, the Mampong Akuapem Apesemakahene, as he prepares to compete in the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primaries (NPP).

Given the current conditions in Akuapem North, Nana Yirenkyi is confident he has what it takes to govern the constituency as an MP.

Speaking to the media about purported made-up stories intended to damage Mr. Awuku’s reputation, the chief emphasized that no amount of hate campaigning can stop Mr. Awuku from running or alter the willingness of the electorate to support him.

“The chiefs and residents of Akuapem North require Sammi Awuku. The Akuapem North seat is not anyone’s property, so cease the attacks, run for office, and do what you can after receiving the necessary votes “said he.

“Look, the public is in favor of Sammy Awuku, he continued. He will get the votes he needs if he runs today. We are prepared for them since we are aware of the individuals behind the hate campaign and unfounded accusations being launched against Sammy.”

It is thought that individuals with ties to the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP for the district have started a hate campaign against Mr. Awuku in an effort to lessen his prospects of winning the parliamentary primary and ultimately taking the seat.

Sammi Awuku’s camp has denied the claims and assured that he is in a strong position to win the seat.
