It was drama on the floor of parliament when the usually calm minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu went ballistic on equally calm MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi and Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah after the latter had referred to the NDC flagbearer as ‘Papa no’.
The term ‘papa no’ has strangely found its way into Ghanaian lexicon after it was used by Kumawood actress Tracey Boakye in her infamous social media spat with Mzbel to refer to the unnamed father of her 3-month old baby.
Though it is still pretty much unclear who exactly is the said ‘papa no’, some Ghanaians especially from the opposition NPP have chosen to accept the unsubstantiated allegations of Gloria Kani, a former friend of Tracey as the gospel truth, thereby tagging former president John Mahama as the unnamed man.
In this spirit, Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah uncharacteristically referred to the former president as ‘papa no’ on the floor of parliament while he was commenting on some issues before the house.
His antics did not go down well with the minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu, who got so angry in his response that he warned the information Minister to retract and apologize or else the minority caucus will not recognize him as a minister.
