Deputy Education Minister, Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum has said government is looking into the incidence at KNUST Senior High School which has led to the death of a student.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, he noted that the student’s death is however not Covid-19 related.

Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ programme, he assured parents that the situation in the school is under control.

“We understand that, in the midst of all the anxiety, it is difficult for students to learn, but counselors are on-site now looking at ways that they can help the students recompose themselves and begin the preparations ahead,” he said.

In a video on social media, the deceased student was seen sitting on a table with the support of four male students while he gasped for breath. Shockingly, some of the teachers looked on unconcerned as the student battled for his life due to fear of Covid-19.
