Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister for Communications and Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency has reiterated government’s commitment to ensuring many girls are enrolled in Information Communication Technology (ICT) Education.

Speaking to the media, she said government is engaging the ministry of education to institutionalize the ‘Girls In ICT education’ initiative to equip women for the technological world.

She said women most often are outnumbered by men in the field of technology and that’s why government is targeting girls including people in remote parts of the country and no one else will be left behind.

Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful made this known during the Females In Technology (FEMITECH) Conference held as part of the International Women’s Day Celebration.

Yvonne Nyanu, Network Quality and Reporting Manager at MTN, urged Ghanaian parents and guardians to go beyond giving dolls and kitchen sets to the female children which limits their ability and condition them to do soft things.

She said like their male counterparts, female children should equally be exposed to technology to peak their interest from a young age.
