The Vice President and 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed his faith in divine guidance, expressing optimism for a brighter future despite his loss in the 2024 general elections.
Dr. Bawumia, who was defeated by President-elect John Dramani Mahama, shared his reflections during the 31st Watch Night service at Lighthouse Chapel International. Addressing the congregation, he said, “I know and believe that God has a plan for me for greater and better things in the future.”
Gratitude and Unity
The former presidential candidate expressed gratitude for the peaceful conduct of the elections, highlighting the importance of thanksgiving and hope as the nation prepares for 2025.
Citing 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians to adopt a spirit of gratitude. “In all things, give thanks to God. I have an abiding faith in the Lord, and for what He has done for us, we give Him thanks,” he stated.
He called on citizens to embrace unity and positivity, emphasizing these values as essential for Ghana’s progress in the years ahead.

Dr. Bawumia extended heartfelt New Year wishes to Ghanaians, saying, “From my wife and me, we wish you a Happy New Year. God bless Lighthouse Chapel, and God bless Bishop Dag.”
Accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, Dr. Bawumia attended the service alongside senior NPP members, including National Chairman Stephen Ntim.
