GNAT Applauds Akufo-Addo For One-Teacher-One-Laptop Initiative

The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has showered applause on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his government’s initiative to supply each teacher in the country with a laptop to aid in effective teaching.

Speaking at the the 6th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) in Kumasi on Tuesday January 4, the National President of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Mrs Philippa Larsen, said “Your excellency, I wish to commend you and your government for supplying customized laptops to teachers.

Mrs. Larsen also appealed to the President and the Minister for Education to ensure that they address other issues which have already been discussed in order to ensure tranquility in the sector.

The One-Teacher-One-Laptop policy was launched by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia on Friday 3rd September, assisted by the Minister for Education, Hon Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum; the Director General of the Ghana Education Service, Prof Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa; and the leadership of Teacher Unions.
