A former Vice Chair of the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) Kwame Jantuah, says President Akufo-Addo is mandated to address Ghanaians on the ongoing fix the country brouhaha and not his finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
He made this ststaement in reaction to the Finance Minister’s press briefing on May 9 which called on Ghanaians to remain patience as government strive to fix the country.
Mr Jantuah told TV3’s Emmanuel Samani on the Mid Day news on TV3 Monday May 10 that governing the country is the responsibility of the President and not the Finance Minister therefore, Mr Akufo-Addo must address the country.
“It is time to listen. For me, it is the president I want to hear speak not the finance minister. Fixing the economy is the president’s take, not the finance minister,” he said.
“The government must say come let us sit down and let’s talk that these are the challenges. Every sector minister today engage with the youth.”
