The family of the woman who was accused of transforming from a bird to a human being in Gomoa Mampong, Central Region, has opposed media reports suggesting that she possesses witch-like abilities to shift between human and animal forms.

During an interview on UTV on July 18, 2023, the sister of the accused woman revealed that her sister is actually suffering from a mental illness and had been missing and unaccounted for three days.

According to the sister of the accused woman, her sister, who is now 39 years old, has been suffering from mental illness since birth.

The sister explained that after the woman went missing, she received a call from someone in Senya, informing her that the missing woman had been found there. Despite her efforts to locate her sister on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, she was unable to find her.

The sister mentioned that it was only yesterday when one of her sons informed her about her sister appearing on TV, being accompanied by a woman who allegedly captures witches.

Subsequently, she made efforts to locate the palace in Gomoa Mampong where her sister was confronted and accused of being a witch.

They brought her sister to the police station, where she had been held in detention. After conducting an interrogation, the police eventually released her.

The sister mentioned that her sibling informed her about being brought to Gomoa in a vehicle by an unknown person.
