The Electoral Commission has in a press release, clarified that their chairperson, Madam Jean Mensah made a mistake when delivering the declaration of the results of the 2020 presidential election yesterday.
In her declaration yesterday, chairperson of the EC, Madam Jean Mensah stated that a total number of 13, 433, 573 voters cast their ballot across the country.
However, in a recent statement from the Electoral Commission, it acknowledged that its Commissioner Jean Mensa made a mistake with the number of votes cast across the country.
According to the Commission, the total number of votes cast on the day across the country was 13,119, 460.
This was after the NDC had raised concerns that the EC’s percentages were inaccurate according to the EC’s own figures for total valid votes cast.
However, according to the Commission, despite the minor error, it does not affect the percentages of the candidates as declared yesterday.
