Although the government is losing money owing to the delay in the approval of the E-Levy, Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin has stated that the law will be passed at the appropriate time.

He was referring about why the Majority had failed to propose a program to the House for approval or rejection of the E-levy.

“The e-levy falls under the programs that we have presented,” he explained. Members will be notified as and when the action is to be taken. Of course, there are no tolls on the roads. We’ve already passed the appropriation that the government should spend in the fiscal year 2022.”

“The government has already lost money in January and February due to the delay in the passage of the E-levy.” “I believe that when the time comes, we will do all possible to show Ghanaians that we are serious about doing business,” said the deputy majority leader in parliament.

On Friday, March 4, 2022, he made the statements when presenting the business statement for the coming week in Parliament.
