Lawyer Kwame Adom Appiah, The deputy Ashanti Regional Secretary of The NPP, who also contested the incumbent MP for Effiduase Asokore has been conclusively vanquished at the polls, just as he was physically assaulted by security personnel earlier in the day.
Mr. Adom Appiah made headlines earlier in the day after it emerged that he had been subjected to severe beatings by about six military personnel for allegedly attempting to snatch an election album, though he himself gave an entirely different account.
However, after the polls were finally concluded, Lawyer Adom Appiah secured a paltry 68 votes representing 17% of the valid votes cast whilst the incumbent MP, Dr. Ayew Afriyie won with 322 votes representing 83% of the total valid votes cast.
This effectively ends the lawyer’s dreams of a fairytale ending. Sadly, the honourable lawyer’s physical beatings have somehow manifested in the outcome of the ballot, sealing his fate with an unenviable double agony.
