Former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu has charged President Akufo-Addo to never again attempt rigging the nomination of anti-corruption Civil Society Organization (CSO) representative for the governing board of the office of the Special Prosecutor.
His comment comes few days to the vetting of the newly appointed Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng.
In a statement, Amidu alleged that the President had previously forced pliant representative into the post, albeit refusing to mention names. He further admonished the anti-corruption CSOs for failing to stand up to the president whenever he takes such decisions.
Mr Amidu further drew the attention of the President to the fact that the three year mandate of the governing board of the OSP expired after midnight of July 11.
