“You’ve Displayed Politically Fine Principles And Conscience That Do Not Come Cheap” – Prof. Gyampo To First Lady On Her Decision To Refund Allowance

Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Ghana, Prof. Ransford Gyampo has laud the first lady, Mrs. Akufo-Addo for deciding to pay back all allowances paid him since 2017 as a spouse to the president.

According to Mr. Gyampo, “Beautiful Rebecca” has …” displayed some politically fine Principles and Conscience that do not come cheap”.

He went ahead to call on MPs who have not been voted out from parliament to also refund all ex-gratias paid them.

According to the associate Professor, it will be a “…way of helping to restore their credibility and legitimacy deficit within the Ghanaian body politic”.

Dear Mrs Akufo Addo,

I won’t say you have succumbed to the legitimately expressed venomous pressure against the recommendation to regularize your allowances into salary.

Rather, I will say, you have simply displayed some politically fine Principles and Conscience that do not come cheap. Well-done.

Others must follow. Let MPs who have never been voted out of Parliament, also refund all illegal ex-gratias paid them as a way of helping to restore their credibility and legitimacy deficit within the Ghanaian body politic.
