Doctors Call for Immediate Halt in Voter Registration Exercise

Over 200 health workers including 99 medical doctors have for the second time petitioned the Chair of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensah to halt the ongoing mass voter registration exercise in order to prevent Ghana from suffering potentially thousands of deaths from Coronavirus.

The health workers had earlier on June 24, cautioned the EC on the mass voters’ registration noting it was going to lead to more Covid-19 cases and related deaths.

“The response from officialdom was that all public health protocols and precautions against Covid-19 will be adhered to, reports on 3 NEWS stated.

“Unfortunately, ongoing events across the country have confirmed our worst fears,” they said.
