The Kaneshie Magistrate Court has handed over former Tamale Central MP Inusah Fuseini to assist the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Police Service in its investigations over his comment on national television.

Joy News’ Kwesi Parker Wilson reports that the CID is currently taking the former Lands Minister’s statement before it decides its next line of action.

The NDC MP in the aftermath of the December 7, polls asked the 2020 NDC flagbearer John Mahama to run a parallel government.

The police on several counts invited the private legal practitioner to assist them in an investigation over his comment but he refused their invitation.

The situation forced the police to obtain a criminal summons against the former MP.

On Monday, state prosecutor Inspector Richard Amoah argued in court that the criminal summons was necessitated by the accused persons refusal to cooperate with the police.

However, Edudzi Tamakloe, the lawyers for Mr Fusieni, justified the refusal by his client to appear before the CID.

He insisted that the Police did not state specific reasons upon which his client was invited.

Judge Ama Adomako-Kwakye after listening to the argument ruled that the accused person submit himself to the police for further investigation.
